About the Craftsmanship
About the Craftsmanship
躙 Tea Chest (Chabitsu)
Crafted in Echizen, Japan, this tea chest is designed to store all the items in your Matcha Zen Kit. More than just storage, it serves as the foundation for performing Bon Temae, the simplified yet profound tea ceremony. This chabitsu transforms your space into a sanctuary for your matcha ritual.
Dimensions: 31x31x12cm (12.2x12.2x4.7")
宙 Matcha Bowl (Raku Chawan)
An original black Raku matcha bowl, created by the 8th generation of a renowned Kyoto ceramist. Each is individually crafted without using potter's wheel and deeply associated with Sado – the Japanese tea ceremony. The softness of clay and the individuality of each piece make this a true collector's item. This comes with a special Japanese wood box.
刀 Smoked Bamboo Scoop (Chashaku)
Hand crafted in Takayama, Japan by the certified artist who've done all the behind the scene for Sado for his entire life. Made from antique smoked Japanese bamboo (over 100 years old), combining functionality and traditional craftsmanship. This comes with a matching bamboo case. Carved grooves, node positions, and spine strength vary, giving distinct personalities to every scoop.
真 Bamboo Whisk (Chasen)
Hand crafted in Takayama Japan by the 25th generation of a certified artisan. Using dark green thread, featuring tines that thin towards the tips. Originally disposable, now more durable for adapting to modern needs. Typically lasts six months with regular use. Made from Japanese Hachiku bamboo, offering superior flexibility and durability.
清 Pure Silk Cloth (Fukusa)
Hand-crafted by skilled Kyoto artisan with Yuzen dyeing technique that has been used for Kimono. Essential for purifying tea utensils. A deep green silk cloth (Fukusa), made from high-quality pure silk, perfectly weighted for easy handling.
空 Premium Ceremonial Matcha
A limited run of Tenryu single-cultivar Samidori ceremonial matcha from Japan. First flush, Tana-gake shaded, and stone-ground. Grown at high elevation, ideal for tea cultivation, with pure high-quality soft mountain water. Perfect balance of rich umami and natural sweetness in vibrant green.
結 Tea Caddy (Small Natsume)
A contemporary tea caddy crafted in Echizen, Japan, used to store and present matcha powder. Smaller than standard natsume, ideal for personal use. Made from durable, lightweight resin for easy handling. Lid features a logo, balancing tradition and modernity.
